Der Jimi Hendrix-Klassiker erscheint nun noch einmal als "Electric ladyland - 50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition" - diese Version umfasst 3 Doppel-LPs sowie eine Bonus-Blu-ray!

Das dritte Studio-Werk "Electric Ladyland" des US-amerikanischen Gitarristen, Komponisten und Sängers und seiner Band The Jimi Hendrix Experience erschien erstmalig am 16. Oktober 1968 und gehört bis heute zu den wichtigsten Alben der Rockgeschichte. Für diese Re-Release-Edition wurde der Longplayer komplett von Bernie Grundman remastert, natürlich von den analogen Originaltapes. Zudem beinhaltet dieses Schmuckstück einige "Early Takes": 20 bisher unveröffentlichte Demos und Studio-Outtakes, welche jeden Hendirx-Fan aufhorchen lassen sollten. Bei einigen handelt es sich um rare Demos für Song-Ideen, die das Ausnahmetalent im Drake Hotel auf Tape aufgenommen hatte. Zu den Highlights gehören außerdem frühe Aufnahmesessions mit Gastauftritten von Buddy Miles, Stephen Stills und Al Kooper. Auf der fünften und sechsten LP befindet sich der Konzertmitschnitt »The Jimi Hendrix Experience: Live At The Hollywood Bowl 9/14/68’«, die Soundboard-Aufnahme eines Konzertes, das wenige Wochen vor der Veröffentlichung von "Electric Ladyland" stattfand. Als weiteren Bonus punktet das Package mit dem 5.1-Surround-Mix des Albums sowie der Dokumentation "At Last… The Beginning: The Making Of Electric Ladyland" auf einer Blu-ray.
